Breaking News: St Patrick’s Day goes on (at CasinoLuck)

St Patricks Day goes on! At least at CasinoLuck as we all know that the yearly celebrations have been cancelled because of one tiny little virus with disastrous consequences. There’s nothing we can do about it, but luckily not all celebrations have been cancelled! CasinoLuck already planned St Patrick’s Day a while ago and is happy to announce they will still award their loyal players with up to 180 free spins for some Irish-themed video slots.

St Patrick’s Day celebrations cancelled

Luckily I’m not the first to bring this message into the world as this decision was taken weeks ago. A tough decision, but the safety of the people can’t be more important than a party! We all have to hang in there and hope that the situation starts to calm down in the next weeks and there will be another St Patrick’s Day next year.

It’s a sad story, though, as for over 1,000 years, St Patricks Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, has been celebrated the traditional way. The traditional way is slightly different from the large crowd with a Guinness in the hand! Traditionally, Irish families would attend church in the morning followed by some afternoon celebrations. Irish food was served while the people danced and drank.

This year, however, none of these traditions are going to take place or if they do, it’ll be in very small groups. I would stay in, though, but I’m not Irish so it’s easy to say. All the other green party animals will have to wait for their modern type of celebrations in which large groups gather together to raise their Guinness while singing along with traditional Irish music.

Over the years, the St Patrick’s Day celebrations did cross the borders and therefore these Irish celebrations aren’t exclusive to the Irish any more. This year, everything is different as barely anybody will be celebrating the unless it’s from the safe environment called home!

The first St Patrick’s parade was held in 1762. Not in Ireland, though, but in New York. It doesn’t matter where it was as this year no parades will take place and the soberest St Patrick’s Day ever!
