Get introduced to the world of Druids in NetEnt’s upcoming Druids’ Dream™ slot
It was thanks to ICE 2020, one of the largest events for iGaming professionals, that a bunch of NetEnt slots was announced in the past weeks. the Street Fighter 2™ slot, the Gordon Ramsay’s Hell Kitchen™ slot, and Trillionaire™ in collaboration with FashionTV have been announced with proud and today another upcoming NetEnt slot was launched with a traditional preview video being published. This time no branded slot, but it looks like the Druid’s Dream™ has a promising theme and gameplay as well. The Druid’s Dream™ slot, an introduction to a Druid’s world!
What is a druid?
Druid is Celtic for Knowing or finding the Oak Tree which totally fits the beliefs of a druid. Because even though they look like fantasy characters in the Druids’ Dream™ slot, druids are for real! In ancient times, a Druid was a priest, philosopher, teacher, counsellor and magician in Celtic religion while in modern times, a Druid is someone who follows Druidry as their chosen spiritual path, or who has entered the Druid level of training in a Druid Order.
Druids could be found in Britain and France, as well as other parts of Europe and rumours go that they spread as far as the Middle East and the earliest known records of the Druids come from the 3rd century BC. Druids are known to be concerned with the natural world and its powers. They considered trees sacred with the oak in particular. Druidry or Druidism nowadays is a modern spiritual movement that promotes harmony, connection, and reverence for the natural world.
Druids are often pictured as an old man, but apparently it doesn’t that long any more to become a druid, the reason NetEnt choose to introduce young druids to the reels in the Druids’ Dream™ slot. And did you know that there are still around 50.000 people practice Druidism worldwide? This while thousands attend the televised events in which the Druids of Wales appear each year at the Welsh National Eisteddfod. No numbers are available about those who are interested in the ideas of Druidry and incorporate some of these beliefs into their own personal brand of spiritual practice. I wouldn’t even be surprised if these numbers grow faster than usual with the world’s environment changing in an unusual tempo!
NetEnt picked an unusual theme for its newest video slot, but the game seems to be launched at the right timing, bringing players to the Druids’ magic forest, where two Druids summon the spirit of the Wild Bear. Celtic-themed, the upcoming Druids’ Dream™ slot promises relaxing Celtic tunes making it the perfect game to tune out and unwind after a busy day. While unwinding, you’ll enjoy a 4×5 Win Both Ways gameplay featuring Re-Spins with Wild Charge and Nudge features along with Free Spins.
Druids’ Dream™ slot?
To be honest, I don’t have much content to base this announcement on as the usual preview video published by NetEnt on its official YouTube page is shorter than usual. Besides the launch date being 6th April and the game being Celtic-themed with druids in the spotlights, I don’t know too much about the Druids’ Dream™ slot yet. The slot description described some quality features, but an extended description or demonstration is missing, but as usual, I’ll try my best to connect a few dots.
Scatter symbols seem to have an important role to play in the Druids’ Dream™ slot with two Druids dwelling in the Enchanted Forest. Whenever one of them appears on the reels with a stack of Wild symbols, the Wild Charge feature is activated. Once charged with the Druid’s magic, every Wild award a Re-Spin and remains on the reels together with the Scatter.
The two Druids Scatters are able to unite their powers, activating the Free Spins feature. It’s during Re-Spins that the Nudge feature can be activated for a chance to land the missing second Scatter. Once their powers are united, the Free Spins feature will begin with each charged Wild bringing an additional Free Spin. More additional Free Spins can be triggered if you manage to summon the Wild Bear spirit acting as the third Scatter.
