NetEnt signs agreement with IGT to supply the NetEnt Games to Norsk Tipping

It was in 2015 that NetEnt and IGT reached an IP patent cross-license agreement enabling NetEnt to offer online casino games in North America that include any of the patented game features contained in the IGT portfolio. Now again the two companies reached an agreement. However, this time to supply online casino games to Norsk Tipping, the state lottery in Norway.

NetEnt and IGT

IGT is a key partner for NetEnt in its expansion into North America and thanks to the IP patent cross-license agreement signed with IGT in May 2015, NetEnt has access to all of IGT’s game feature patents for their North American multichannel games offering.

The signing of an IP patent cross-license agreement with IGT was a big step forward in entering the North American online gambling market. This online casino market is slowly opening up again for operators after it was shut down the moment US Congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) of 2006. The UIGEA prohibited gambling businesses from knowingly accepting payments, the reason many gambling sites immediately suspended business with US gamblers.

Now again, an important has been signed with IGT. This time it involves IGT and the state lottery, Norsk Tipping. Thanks to the agreement signed with IGT, NetEnt’s award-winning games will become available for customers of Norsk Tipping.

IGT’s contract with Norsk Tipping

Earlier this year, NetEnt participated as a supplier to IGT in the competitive procurement process of Norsk Tipping for the delivery of online casino content. Following a successful tender process, IGT announced in February of this year that it had won a contract with Norsk Tipping to provide online casino games.

Subsequent to the contract win, NetEnt and IGT have signed an agreement for the supply of the NetEnt Games to Norsk Tipping. Under the terms of IGT’s contract with Norsk Tipping, NetEnt will make a wide range of its world-leading games available through the IGT Connect™ integration layer to Norway’s state lottery operator.

Enrico Bradamante, MD of NetEnt Malta Ltd, commented: “We look forward to providing our popular game portfolio to Norsk Tipping together with IGT through their IGT Connect™ platform. We are proud to serve yet another customer through IGT in the strategically important WLA segment.”
