NetEnt’s Asian games portfolio extended with Pirate from the East™ slot

With three Asian-themed video slots available at some NetEnt Casinos, NetEnt’s portfolio created for the Asian market is extending. It all started with the Twin Happiness™ video slot in September 2019, but since then two more games specifically developed for the Asian market were launched. This week, NetEnt added the latest of the three with the Pirate from the East™ slot.

Pirates of the East?

If you think that pirates and piracy are only seen in films these days or in history books, you are so wrong! It was only recently that I watched Captain Philips (2013), inspired by the true story of the 2009 Maersk Alabama hijacking. The film shows the incident during which merchant mariner Captain Richard Phillips was taken hostage by pirates in the Guardafui Channel.

This film perfectly shows why piracy still exists and how the networks involved in these piracy works. The pirates themselves are often poor people fighting for a way to survive, nothing like the piracy in the Pirates of the Caribbean films! No drunk pirates with dreadlocks and black eyeliners, but instead poor guys that seem they have nothing to lose other than their lives or their lives.

If you check the Live Piracy Map available on the internet, you’ll see piracy is still as real as can be and what happens can be compared to the old-days piracy. The idea is the same and it concerns a robbery in which pirates climb from one boat to another boat or coastal area. The goal is to steal the entire cargo and/or other valuable items.

No matter what pirates look like in real-life these days, NetEnt’s inspiration comes from the old-styled piracy, hence the pirates in the Pirate from the East™ slot are wearing an eye patch while the symbols are covered with a ship, a compass, and lots of gold. So if you always wanted to be a pirate, with hardly anything else to do than sailing and drinking rum, this Asian-themed video slot is the way to go!

Pirate of the East™ slot

It was earlier this week that this video slot was added to NetEnt’s portfolio specially designed to cater the Asian players. That’s exactly why you’ll find Asian symbols on some objects, but to be available for European players as well, the game is also available in euros.

With the Pirate from the East™ slot now available at some NetEnt Casinos, it’s time to set sail to the adventurous world of pirates featuring Scatter wins, Free Spins, Wilds, and clickable Scatter symbols that allow you to select the Free Spins and Multiplier of your choice. You’ll enter the pirate ship you might have always dreamed of entering, with its authentic cannons, mast, and sails that takes you to secret locations where hidden treasures abound.

Feature-rich, there’s plenty of adventures ahead of you and it all starts with the Wild symbol that substitutes for all symbols, except for Scatter symbols. This feature is available in both the main game and during Free Spins with all wins with a Wild involved multiplied by x3.

Two Scatters pay out during the main game, but 3 or more Scatter symbols appearing anywhere on the reels trigger Free Spins. It’s up to you to chose what is ahead of you as all Scatter symbols show a Free Spin and a Multiplier. You just pick the feature that seems to be most awarding. Each Scatter symbol on the reels will award an extra Free Spin, so there’s basically no need to rob another ship!
