Two weeks left for the Reef Raider™ video slot launch
On the 12th of August, it’s time for the launch of another great NetEnt slot. Not exactly what I expected in the first place. I expected a rough bunch of pirates, but instead, we only got one. He looks extremely dangerous though with his peg leg, hook and scissorhand! In the end, I think you’ll like him and the enjoyable gameplay in the upcoming Reef Raider™ video slot.
The toughest pirate you’ll ever know!
From the 12th of August, you’ll see the typical appearance of a pirate back on the reels. But is he so typical? His golden tooth, peg leg, and hook assume he is, But there’s something different about Long John Scissorhand!
One hand a scissorhand and the one a hook, he could be dangerous, but I’m not convinced he’s very harmful, though. His five legs, of which one is a peg leg, could make him extremely fast which could be in your advantage. And as a real pirate, he sees half the world with one eye covered like a true pirate!
From the first footage of the video slot (as a preview video is still missing), it seems Long John Scissorhand starts at the beginning of a trail. A treasure trail!
The trail lies in the depths of a beautiful coral, one not destroyed by humans or climate change. In every corner of the treasure trail, you find an items. There’s the anchor, W coin, a treasury, and a canon.
It’s not hard to figure out that these four items are linked to a special slot feature. The further you see Long John Scissorhand walk the trail in the upcoming Reef Raider™ video slot, the more special features you activate.
Why should you look forward to the Reef Raider™ video slot?
If you have a good look at the above footage of the Reef Raider™ video slot, you see immediately why. You see NetEnt’s newest slot character next to the 7×7 grid, ready to start walking his treasure trail.
The fact that it’s not a standard video slot will attract many players, especially those that like comparable slots like the Finn and the Swirly Spin™ slot and Wild Worlds™.
To come to certain gameplay, the Reef Raider™ is enriched with a 7×7 cluster pays mechanic. This in combination with the famous Avalanche™ feature while jam-packed with features, is exactly what makes this a fun, pirate-themed underwater adventure!
Reef Raider™ video slot features
With the launch of the Reef Raider™ video slot approaching, more and more information about this video slot is coming available. That’s how I now know what slot feature are exactly available in the upcoming pirate-themed slot.
I’m not going into too many details yet, as we want to keep some excitement left for launch day. But as mentioned before, the Reef Raider™ video slot offers Cluster Pays. Therefore, a minimum of 5 adjacent symbols award a cluster win. A Cluster win also triggers the ever popular Avalanche™ feature.
New in this pirate-themed video slot is the treasure trail that runs around the video slot, with on each corner a special symbol. This original trail consists of 15 meter bars. These bars are initially uncharged.
During the game, each time you have a cluster win, a Clam Wild is removed from the play area and 1 bar of the Treasure Trail meter is charged.
The more trail meters get charged, the further the pirate Reef Raider moves along the treasure trail as its meter bars get charged. When you reach the end of the treasure trail, when 15 or more bar meters are charged, you reach the Free Spins feature. Along the way, you have a chance to activate extra slot features.
During the Free Spins feature, 15 charged bars award 1 additional Free Spin, and every extra 3 charged bars award 1 more additional Free Spins.
When you enter Free Spins, you activate the Mystery Overlay feature. 5 Mystery symbols will then appear on the reels. One of them in the centre of the play area and 4 more on the positions horizontally and vertically adjacent to the centre.
The Mystery symbols then reveal to form a winning cluster. The position of the initial cluster of Mystery symbols appear randomly on the reels. When horizontally or vertically adjacent to one of the positions of the initial cluster of Mystery symbols, the additional Mystery symbol position becomes a part of the cluster until Free Spins end.
