You must have done something right in life when NetEnt releases a mobile slot game completely dedicated to you. And yes, Jimi Hendrix did something incredibly right in his short life as it was this legend that changed the way guitar was played forever.
Jimi Hendrix’s life
It all started with the birth of Johnny Allen Hendrix (his real name) in 1942 in Seattle, USA. As a young boy, Jimi already had the habit of carrying a broom with him to emulate a guitar, but he didn’t play for real until he got to the age of 15.
Although he did manage to get his hands on a broken ukele with only one string, good enough for Hendrix to learn single notes. In the year Jimi Hendrix lost his mother due to illness, he bought himself his first acoustic guitar for $5.
Hours and hours of practising, watching others, listening to tips from experienced guitarists, and listening to blues artists lead to Jimi’s talent.
Jimi’s dad was never much of a support for Jimi’s musicality. However, he eventually relented after which he bought Jimi a white Supro Ozark in 1959. The electric guitar gave Jimi the ability to be heard over the sound of his first band, the Velvetones.
Career Jimi Hendrix
Jimi did finish high school, but driving around in stolen cars resulted in Hendrix joining the Army. Law enforcement authorities caught Jimi twice and gave him a choice. Spending time in jail or joining the Army.
Jimi Hendrix experienced hard times in the army, but his red Silvertone Danelectro got him through despite the resistance of his peers. During his army period, Jimi met Billy Cox. His army fellow was intrigued by the proficient playing of the guitar maestro.
The two started performing together and eventually moved to Tennessee to form a band called the King Kasuals. For the next two years, Hendrix was drawing popularity giving him the opportunity to back artists like Little Richard, B.B. King, and Ike and Tina Turner.
After his move to London in 1966, Jimi Hendrix formed The Jimmy Hendrix Experience. He played the guitar and also sang as the lead vocalist along with Noel Redding as the bass player and John “Mitch” Mitchell on the drums. Altogether they were responsible for the hit single “Hey Joe” from the album “Are You Experienced?”.
Two more albums followed, Axis: Bold as Love and Electric Ladyland. The group broke up in 1967 due to a contractual dispute between Jimi and his producer Ed Chalpin in 1965.
Jimi recorded one more album, Band of Gypsys. But that’s where the story of one the greatest artists in history ended. Jimi died at the age of 27 due to an overdose of sleeping pills.
Jimi Hendrix Touch®
Johnny Allen Hendrix didn’t live a long life. But it’s impossible to forget his guitar play. The same goes for songs such as “Foxey Lady,” “Purple Haze,” “Crosstown Traffic” and “Little Wing”. It’s these popular songs that are available in Jimi Hendrix Touch®.
This, however, is only the beginning of what I call the Jimi Hendrix mobile slot experience. Besides the guitar God’s most famous songs, Jimi Hendrix Touch® will also bring back Woodstock and flower power, the red guitar I’ve mentioned earlier, vinyl records, and of course the guitar maestro himself.
The Jimi Hendrix character has been developed with 10 different morph targets, creating hundreds of unique facial expressions which have been modified by hand for added realism. This animated mobile slot is available entirely in 3D responsible for stunning 3D graphics and vibrant animations.
Abundance of slot features
As always, NetEnt implemented some of the best slot features in Jimi Hendrix online slot Touch® adding a lot of originality. The result is two main game features that will for sure keep you captivated while the Pick and Click feature can lead you to three different free spins features.
Both the Red Guitar feature and the Purple Haze feature in Jimi Hendrix Touch® are bringing a lot of extra excitement to the main game. The Red Guitar Re-spin feature can activate multiple Re-spins while the Purple Haze feature sees low win symbols transform into Wilds.
Red Guitar Re-spin feature
Four or more Red Guitar symbols will be responsible for the activation of the Red Guitar Re-spin feature. These same Red Guitar symbols are there to stay for any subsequent Red Guitar Re-S pins acting as overlay symbols during each spin.
As long as new Red Guitar symbols join the club during a Re-spin, you activate another Re-spin. But when no new Red Guitar symbols appear on the reels during a Re-spin, the Red Guitar Re-spin feature comes to an end.
Purple Haze feature
When the Purple Haze feature is activated after the Purple Haze symbol landed on reel 1, you will see the symbols 10, J, Q , K transformed into Wild symbols for just one spin. The Purple Haze symbol which is still on reel 1 will behave as a Wild after Wild transformation has occurred.
Pick and Click feature
You become able to pick as many speakers as you can during the Pick and Click feature, just until you’ve found yourself three of the same symbols.
This party in Jimi Hendrix Touch® starts after three Scatter symbols appeared in the main game. The speaker you picked will award one of the four different prizes:
- Coin win (a random multiplier of between x8 and x30 of the initial bet.)
- Crosstown Traffic Free Spins
- Purple Haze Free Spins
- Little Wing Free Spins.
Free Spins features
Once one of the three Free Spins features is activated during the Pick and Click feature, you can expect between 6 and 12 free spins.
- During the Crosstown Traffic Free Spins, Wild Reels appear on different reels for each spin.
- Purple Haze Free Spins transforms the lower paying symbols into Wild symbols.
