Rome-themed mobile slots
It’s not the first time we see gladiators in a mobile slot from NetEnt. The Golden Age of Rome has always been a popular theme for video slot developers and that’s how we also see the gladiators back in Victorious Touch®.
It was an important period in history during which Rome grew in size and power. Rome became one of the largest empires with also their legal system expanding. Even though the legal system in Ancient Rome got closer to what it is today, it took quite a while for the gladiator fights to disappear. The gladiator games lasted for nearly a thousand years reaching a peak between the 1st century BC and the 2nd century AD.
Gladiator fights were organized for many reasons. Sometimes dozens of condemned naked criminals with their hands tied at the back were placed into the amphitheatre. Not yet knowing that a tiger has placed in there as well. Gladiator fights were also an opportunity for emperors and rich aristocrats to display their wealth, to commemorate military victories, for when important officials came to visit or to celebrate birthdays.
Rome The Golden Age Touch® features
Get ready for a lot of symbol transformations that keep you captivated when you play Rome The Golden Age Touch®. You have no time to enjoy the symbols as they are. Before you know, the five distinctive reels show a good number of Golden Age symbols.
The Golden Age symbols are what makes Rome The Golden Age Touch® an innovative mobile slot. They for sure won’t go unnoticed! Before you know, the five reels show an abundance of Golden Age symbols.
These special symbols are easily recognized as golden coins. They appear randomly on the five distinctive reels that show a 3-4-5-4-3- layout. When a Golden Age coin appears on these reels in both main game and during Free Spins, the symbol receives a frame and can randomly turn into an active symbol for Wilds to appear. Keep reading to find out how this works exactly.
What is an active frame?
When a Golden Age symbol lands on the reels, the symbol is marked with a frame. The symbol can then randomly turn into a Rome symbol for the same frame to become “active”. An active frame is easy to recognize with the laurel wreath lightning up.
On the next spin, the Active Rome symbol turns into a Wild symbol with a chance to spread around. All adjacent positions with non-active and active Frames turn into Wild symbols. The same can then happen to the (active) frames next to the new Wilds and so on. Wild symbols, as usual, substitute for all other symbols, except Scatters.
Free Spins feature
Land 3 Scatters on the reels 2,3 and 4 in the main game, to activate 3 Free Spins which come with a progressive Multiplier. Besides the increasing Multiplier, you can also unlock new Free Spins!
The activation spin is important for the start of the Free Spins feature. This is because all positions with (active) frames that did not turn into Wild symbols will now lock into their positions awarding random prizes ranging from 1 to 50 times your bet.
Free Spins now start and when a Rome symbol lands on a position still available, a random prize between 1 and 50 times your bet appears again. As this happens, your Free Spins counter resets with the initial 3 Free Spins available again.
If all the positions are locked at the end of the Free Spins feature, the feature awards an extra x2 Multiplier for all the random prizes on the Rome symbols.
Every time a Golden Age symbol lands on a frameless position during the main game, the Multiplier meter rises with x1 starting at x1. When a Golden Age symbol lands on a position with an (active) frame, you receive a random number of points between 1 and 5 added to the meter.
