Who is Peter Scudamore
For many, the Scudamore family need little introduction because of the seven decades of continuity, but I’m sure there will be non-British players that have no clue what this family is all about and who Peter Scudamore is.
As the son of jockey Michael Scudamore, it’s no surprise that Peter Scudamore followed his father’s footsteps. His father won the 1959 Grand National when Peter was still a baby. A fall ended his dad’s career, but Peter remember his father’s toughness as a jockey and wanted to live up to him. Being the son of a Grand National winner, he had a lot to live up to, though, but his determination to succeed from a young age, and to impress his father, formed the backbone for Peter Scudamore.
That’s how Peter Scudamore didn’t just become good at winning races, he became great at it. From the 7,521 races he did, he managed to win 1,678! That’s how he became a true horse racing legend. His son stepped into his footsteps, but will have a hard time to beat the successes of his grandpa and father.
The eight-time Champion Jockey, who is also known as “Scu”, left many impressed during his 15-year career. Scudamore’s first competitive ride came in 1978 and in 1988-1989, he already set a record for most winners in a season. He benefited particularly from being stable jockey for the record-breaking trainer Martin Pipe and the partnership was an extremely successful one. He was the first trainer to refine his methods with a scientific approach. It was mainly thanks to this successful partnership that he managed to become champion jockey a record eight times, with the last seven in succession between 1985 and 1992.
Scu retired on 7 April 1993 with a winning ride on Sweet Duke at Ascot, his 1,678th winner. Right after his retirement, Scudamore became assistant trainer while he also pursued a career in media, featuring regularly as a pundit on BBC racing coverage and writing a racing column for the Daily Mail. He is also involved with his son Michael’s yard and his other son Tom Scudamore who is the third generation of the Scudamore family to become a professional jockey.
While the 5×3 layout and 20 betlines will turn into a 5×4 layout with 32 bet lines during the Peter’s Classic Cup feature, the betting options will remain the same. This means that you can choose to play with a minimum bet of 0.10, a maximum bet of 100.00, or anything in between. To get to the bet you prefer to play with, you’ll have 10 bet levels and 7 coin values available.
Scudamore’s Super Stakes™ slot features
Horse-mad or not, I’m sure you’ll be enjoying the innovative Peter’s Classic Cup feature and Bet Slip feature. However, the entire game is highly recommended, especially if you’re interested in high volatility slots!
As the majority of the NetEnt slots, also the Scudamore’s Super Stakes™ slot offers a Wild symbol. As usual, the Wild symbol substitutes for all symbols except for Scatter symbols and Bet Slip symbols. These Wilds are always welcome to create more winning combinations, but the real action in this video slot comes from the Random Wild feature, the Peter’s Classic Cup feature and the Bet Slip feature.
Random Wild feature
Every time you hit the spin button while in the main game, you have the chance to activate the Random Wild feature. When the Random Wild feature is activated, 2 to 5 horse shoe symbols are randomly placed on the reels turning the symbols they land on into Wilds.
Peter’s Classic Cup
Peter’s Classic Cup is a thrilling video slot feature and makes Scudamore’s Super Stakes™ worth playing. The Peter’s Classic Cup feature will be activated when 3 Scatter symbols appear anywhere on reels 1, 3 and 5 in the main game.
You will be asked to pick one of the 4 horses of which you think will win the race. In the Race Position box, the horse you pick is marked by a star so you’ll be able to follow your horse and check if your horse is in the lead.
Now the race is on, but first the game will turn into a 5 reels and 4 rows counting video slot with 32 bet lines. During the race, the color of the winning combinations will influence the outcome of the race! Picking the winning horse, you can win up to 5000x your bet. What horse will it be? Will it be Divine Fortune (Red – 5000x), Berry Max (Purple – 500x), Gonzo’s Quest (Green – 100x), or Tin Foil Hat (Blue – 50x) that you will put your bet on?
While the Peter’s Classic Cup feature is bringing true horse racing content to the reels, the Bet Slip feature isn’t bad at all either and you purchase a bet slip at any time by clicking on the bet slip before a spin. The Bet Slip feature is giving you a chance to make a side bet.
You pick a symbol and the number of spins you want the bet to be available. The more spins, the more of your selected symbols you need, but in return you get a higher payout if you manage.
The Bet Slip will show many times a selected symbol appears during the spins and how many you still need and how many spins there are left. Once all spins are done and you manage to collect the number of symbols needed, you’ll be paid the Multiplier times your chosen bet.
