Thrill Spin™ (EOL)
This game is End of Life but feel free to read about it here
Don’t get me wrong, I love the video slots designed by Net Entertainment, I even love amusement parks once in a while, a long while though, and I do like children, but the moment I opened Thrill Spin I wasn’t sure about all of this anymore. I was surprised about the background sound Netent chose to give you the idea you’re walking around on a Carnival. Seriously, the idea is nice, but when I hear a children screaming and crying in the back, I’m not as amused anymore about playing the video slot. But as patient as I can be, I gave Thrill Spin a chance. Not for long though, because it took me only a few spins to switch of the sounds as my first win resulted in a bunch of screaming people riding an attraction. The worst sound choice I’ve heard so far in a Netent video slot, which almost made longing for a boring ying yang themed video slot with Japanese spa music, but luckily there’s a mute button hidden in the bottom of the game. But hey, maybe you love the thrill of a theme park, including the sounds, which makes Thrill Spin perfect for you.
I must say I like the theme with all its colours and all ingredients I used to like about theme parks and carnivals. A roller coaster, the fast food, ride tickets, and the Haunted House, although less popular with me as you can read in the Spellcast review. Ten plus pints for the designers though using my personal favourite, the elegant white horse from the carrousel. It all fits the theme perfectly, just as the balloon line markers, the roller coaster twisting and turning in the background and around the reels.
As with many Netent video slots, also Thrill Spin is giving you the option to adjust the amount of bet lines. Although I highly recommend you to play with all 20 bet lines activated, as more winning combinations will be the result of that. Following my advice you’ll be playing with a minimum bet of 0.30. Usually this would have been 0.15, but for some reason Netent didn’t include the 0.01 coin value. Not the end of the world as 0.30 is still an average minimum bet, perfect for low rollers. But if you rather play with higher bets, there are five levels you can use to increase your winning chances while five coin values can be used to increase the winnings. And while since the 0.01 coin is missing, coin values will be between 0.02 and 0.50. With five different coin values and five bet levels there are dozens of betting options, starting from 0.30 up to a maximum of 37.50. It’s one of the lowest maximum bets seen at a Netent video slot, but still high enough for the average video slot players.
So far we have some annoying background sounds combined with an even more annoying winning sound, though a nice colourful slot theme. It must be the extra features though that have to make me more enthusiastic about Thrill Spin. But all I you get is some standard features, nothing special involved. It’s a Wild, a Scatter and 15 Free Spins that should give you an exciting time, but I’m not sure if this will be enough.
Although I have to admit these standard feature will be good enough when looking for an easy paced game, offering a cheerful theme featuring a mega Wild pay-out when five or more Wild symbols appear. If so, this will result in a huge payout of 10.000. Also the Wild substitutes for any other symbol in Thrill Spin, except for the Scatter symbol. Additionally Wild wins are doubled by x2, a nice extra which is much needed to spicy up the winnings.
Scatter wins are provided when two or more Scatters appear anywhere, resulting in two times your total bet. This Scatter Multiplies goes up when more Scatters appear up to a maximum of 500 times your total bet. Very generous when this happens, but in the meanwhile it will be mostly two Scatters at the time, and if lucky three. When this happens 15 Free Spins will be awarded. During Free Spins no bet is paid, but winnings will flow in winnings will increase thanks to a x3 Multiplier. And while visiting a theme park anyway, you can also think about visiting a Fortune Teller, or Spellcast which makes me think of the haunted house attraction, while more entertainment could be found while watching the magic show in Simsalabim.
